Elkwood Assisted Living Elkwoodwood Assisted Living is a place where seniors can enjoy all the comforts and conveniences of home, free from burdensome chores associated with daily living, yet receive support and assistance when needed. Trained staff members render individualized service to residents, depending on their wants or needs, while always preserving their dignity, independence and privacy Elkwood is a senior community with 69 residential units, including 52 units for assisted living, 11 for Alzheimer's care and six for independent living. Built on a 20-acre site in Elk City, Oklahoma, this modern community consists of five buildings on the north 4.4 acres of the property. The original assisted living community was completed in 2001. A memory care unit was added in 2002, and three duplexes for independent living were built in 2003. Residents in assisted living have access to a library/study, an activity center, card and game areas, an indoor aquatic center with hot tub and pool, a fitness center, a massage room, a beauty/barber shop, a common dining room, a private dining room, a coffee center, a great room, an enclosed courtyard and an above-ground safe room. The duplex townhouses feature two bedrooms, two bathrooms, spacious living and dining areas, full kitchens, laundries, and two-car garages. A lively town of 10,000 located 112 miles west of Oklahoma City on historic Route 66, Elk City offers a variety of local attractions, including the National Route 66 Museum. Also located along Route 66 adjacent to the Old Town Complex, Ackley Park features miniature golf, train rides, an aquatic center, a baseball park, tennis and sand volleyball courts, a carousel and more. Great Plains Regional Medical Center is close by and there are plenty of restaurants, shops and churches. Other attractions include the Old Town Museum, the Farm and Ranch Museum, and the Red Carpet Community Theater, which provides an impressive slate of performances each year. At Elkwood, our staff helps residents get the most out of life by organizing a health and wellness program that offers recreational and social activities designed to meet individual needs. Support groups, as well as our professional staff, are available to assist with any issues that may face our residents. Health education programs promote both fun and healthy living. While we assist seniors with daily life, our staff members also encourage each resident to remain as active and independent as possible. Elkwood's assisted living staff is available at all times to help residents manage day-to-day living. We can help with ordering medication. Unlike many other senior communities, Elkwood requires no endowments or long-term commitments. Our monthly rental philosophy encourages financial independence and flexibility. A single monthly payment covers utilities (except phone), basic cable, three meals a day, maintenance, 24-hour call service, housekeeping and linen service. |
