The Veranda Assisted Living & Memory Care

The Veranda is an assisted living community designed and built specifically for the care of seniors with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

Our homelike surroundings are warm and nurturing to help reduce agitation and depression often experienced by residents with memory impairment. The Veranda is designed with visual cues that help our residents find their way around the community and enable them to live each day as independently as possible while promoting their safety and security.

The Veranda has a variety of special enhancements for memory care residents, but that doesn’t mean there are no amenities to make life more enjoyable. Our community offers many of the same enjoyments found in the finest assisted living communities, including spa room, wellness center, snack shop, and country kitchen for private family dining. There are also two spacious activity rooms, two dining rooms, a secure patio and garden, and numerous living areas where residents can socialize, rest, entertain visitors, or listen to musical entertainment.

Broad, Multi-dimensional Program of Activities

Our program directors combine educational and personal experience in the field of dementia care to provide activity programming for seniors with memory impairments. Together, they are dedicated to providing the tools and resources that allow for more individualization while working within a framework of varied learning styles. Activities are tailored to the individual resident, meeting needs according to personal cognitive levels and needs.

Our program is divided between low functioning, mid-range and high functioning residents and addresses the physical, spiritual, cognitive, social and physiological areas of learning and exercise. Activities include areas of involvement that respect and remember the productive side of life, such as current events, word games, arts and crafts, cooking, dancing, singing, building and sanding, sewing, and partner projects, such as “The Linus Project” that enlists residents to make baby blankets for underprivileged and at-risk children.

With two activity rooms, two program teachers and an enthusiastic, supportive care staff, we encourage our residents to pursue an active and productive lifestyle designed to enhance their quality of life.

We also offer resident care programs that include nursing, visiting healthcare professionals, routine wellness monitoring, and in-house rehabilitation.
