Activities offered at Waterford Gardens include:
At Waterford Gardens, our residents can spend more time with family and friends while our caring and dedicated staff handles the chores and supports their health and well-being. Our basic living program provides three well-balanced, nutritious meals daily plus snacks throughout the day, 24-hour access to staff, participation in activities and social events, scheduled transportation, all utilities except phone and cable and weekly housekeeping and laundering of bed and bath linens. Breakfast is always served to order and residents can choose from several entrees and delicious side items for both lunch and dinner. For residents who want or need additional care, we provide medication management, and supportive assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs). Depending upon a resident’ level of care, he or she may also receive enhanced assistance with ADLs or comprehensive assistance with ADLs and incontinence management. Residents who need memory care are enrolled in our Evergreen Living program. They receive Alzheimer’s/dementia care, medication management, supportive assistance with ADLs, incontinence management and participation in an Alzheimer’s support group. Waterford Gardens is affiliated with the Center for Health in Aging at Emory University in Atlanta. All assisted living units feature kitchenettes, private bathrooms, wall-to-wall carpeting, window treatments, fire alarms and smoke detectors. Assisted living residents have access to the following amenities:
Special Physical Fitness/Rehabilitation Program At Waterford Gardens, we’re excited to include in our services a program that helps maintain the physical fitness, mobility and safety of your loved one. Sierra Rehab, a senior wellness specialist group, has partnered with Waterford Gardens to provide skilled physical therapy and occupational therapy in the community. Sierra Rehab works to achieve optimal levels of functioning with each individual they treat. Their mission is to “help seniors age in place,” by providing therapy services that help prevent disability and decline. This includes helping seniors avoid premature nursing home placement. Additionally, therapists can develop personalized a Functional Maintenance Program designed to maximize each individual’s ability to function in these targeted areas:
Therapy is billed to Medicare, which pays 80% of the total charges. Most secondary insurance will pay the remaining 20%, unless otherwise specified by individual policies. Examples of secondary insurance include, but are not limited to, AARP, Cigna, United Healthcare and BC/BS. Private funds are also accepted if insurance is limited. Statistics prove that the longer one lives, the greater chance one may need to depend on others for assistance with day-to-day activities. It makes good sense to have physical and occupational therapists in the community providing programs that can help maintain mobility and independence in the daily activities of all of our residents. In order to access the Sierra Rehab physical and/or occupational therapy services, your loved one will require a prescription from his/her physician. Upon move-in, please inform our Resident Care Director, if you would like to have your loved one receive a free assessment from Sierra Rehab. We will be happy to coordinate this screening for you. If the screening indicates that your loved one could benefit from physical or occupational therapy services, we will provide you with the assessment evaluation so that you can review it with your loved one’s physician and move forward with obtaining the prescription for services. |
